Dates May 2006 - May 2007
Problem Criticality Analysis is performed on every IV&V project in the Facility on startup and at regular intervals during their lifecycle. Current processes are generally manual and time consuming, requiring long group meetings to accomplish agreement of results. A database will be designed to support entry of individual or small group analysis results, compilation of multiple results into project-level summary reports, iterative discussion-driving interfaces, automated generation of deliverable reports and tables, and comparative analysis across past projects. The research will help smooth the process of completing criticality assessments, reduce the amount of time required to complete assessments, and allow for comparison of similar assessments to assist in verification of results as well as the rationale used to generate the assessment scoring.
Objective
  • By July 2006, establish a database design and web interface supportive of hosting criticality analysis matrices, displaying individual or compiled results, supporting web-based data entry, and implementing an access control scheme.
  • By September 2006, establish methods and interfaces for on- and off-line data entry, complete prototype discussion-driving interfaces.
  • By October 2006, support at least one pilot project through usage of the database for entry and reporting of criticality analysis results, recording all feedback for reasonable and beneficial enhancements to be considered for implementation in the remaining period of performance.
  • By March 2007, implement recommended and required changes to support acceptance of the database into regular criticality analysis cycles, refine permissions as necessary to support limited access between organizations, and support additional IV&V projects in usage of the system.
  • By March 2007, compile five or more past criticality assessments into the database and compare related functions. Achieve conclusions from comparisons regarding assessment models and results.
