| Problem | The "Experience Base" we propose will facilitate the early adoption of V&V practices by NASA project teams. This EB will enable teams to learn from one another as to how best to deploy inspections; reuse checklists and other resources appropriate to their context; and evaluate their performance against baseline data. It will help teams to satisfy the new NASA Procedural Requirements (NPR) 7150.2 as well as key CMMI requirements for software verification (namely to monitor and improve V&V effectiveness). In the long term, the EB will enable research into how V&V effort can best be distributed across the whole lifecycle. These results can have a significant impact as they will be disseminated via (and help address needs of) associated training courses. |
