Technology Infusion of SAVE into STRS Architecture Compliance Verification at GRC
Point of Contact Louis Handler

Dates December 2007 - June 2008
Problem The Space Telecommunications Radio System (STRS) project has defined a software defined radio architecture for space radios with constrained resources. The STRS architecture requires that conformant applications implement and use a limited set of application programmer interfaces (APIs). The STRS application software written for these radios must be verified for STRS conformance. The portion of the STRS application, written for a general purpose processor, having a real-time operating system, will follow the architecture and be written in C/C++. An automated method for checking STRS architecture conformance is required for these applications.
Objective The overall goal of this technology infusion project is to verify conformance of STRS applications to the STRS architecture. The conformance testing process will be developed leveraging the SAVE software populated with the specific STRS architecture requirements for testing STRS applications. A secondary goal for the conformance tool is to develop a flexible software tool that can easily be updated as the STRS architecture matures. The impact for the target project will be confidence in the application?s adherence to the STRS architecture.
